New Roofs Dr. Robert El McDermott, provost of Penn State-Capitol Campus, has announced that as a result of competitive bidding, a contract in the amount of $75,035 has been awarded to the Leßoy Roofing Co. of 41st and Deny Street, Harrisburg, Pa. The work to be performed under the contract will be the removal and replacement of roofing of 27 duplex housing units in the Meade Heights Housing Area. Before beginning work on the 1976-77 yearbook, the staff would like student input as to whether there is any concern about publishing a yearbook. The meet begins at4:oo p.m. Thesday afternoon, October 5, Capitol hosted the Philadelphia Bible College team which ended in a victory for Capitol with a 21 to 35 score. Runners from Capitol included “Dink” Cecconi; Bob Rhinier, Steve Stough; Dale Myers; Rich Larmoun Lloyd Seager; and Ruth McGreehan. “Dink” Cecconi was first to cross the finish line with a time of 29: 59; followed by Bob Rhinier for second place with a time of 30: 41. The coach, John Schwanger placed 6th with a time of 31:55; 9t.h place; Steve Staugh; 33: 21; 10th place, Dale Myers, 33:36; 13th place, Rich Larmour, 34:36; 15th place, Lloyd Seager, 37:25; and 16th place, Ruth McGreehan, 41:06. Till 9:00 Kickers Split On Tuesday night, the Capitol Campus Soccer Team lost a close 5-4 game to Berks Campus in the final minutes of play. Berks scored eariy in the first half, but Capitol came back with goals by Ken Holt and Denny Williams. The lead see-sawed until late in the first half when Omar Bakar scored on a comer kick from right wing Doug Plesterer giving Capitol a 4-3 halftime lead. After Berks tied the score early in the second half, Capitol’s defense, lead by Tom Plank, held them until the last five minutes when Berks scored the winning goal. On Thursday night, the 7th of October, Capitol put it all together when they won their first game beating North East Christian 9-3. In the first half, two goals by Ken Holt and one each by Bill Eagan and Omar Bakar put Capitol ahead 4-2. Denny Williams scored eariy in the second half and Neil Peters clinched the game for Capitol with back- to- back goals. Successful penalty kicks by Darryl Whiteman and Jeff Bossard gave Capitol the final two goals for the 9-3 victory.
