Dr. Kenneth Masters and Dr. Philip L. Taylor,
professors of the Urban Term. The first seminar of the
Urban Term held March 24th featured Harrisburg Mayor
Harold Swenson talking about “Problems Facing
Harrisburg.” Mayor Swenson reviewed the history of
the city council and the position of the mayor. A lively
interchange with students and faculty followed his
remarks.
Tennis Team Conquers First 3 Foes
Capitol’s tennis team got
the season off to a victorious
note by winning its first
three matches.
The first win came in a
home match against Wil
liamsport Area Community
College by a 5-4 score.
Next the team traveled to
Penn State’s Delaware Cam
pus. Capitol won the match,
6-2, in a curtailed contest
due to darkness.

singles matches by lop
sided scores.

Schultheiss, and Ramone
Segree.
The third match of the
year was a 6-3 win Over Penn
State’s Ogontz Campus on
April 7 on Capitol’s courts.

started the spring season
with 2 off campus games so
far. Monday, April 5 they
travelled to Nanticoke where
they played Luzerne County
Community College. Score:

Wednesday, April 7 they
went to Ogontz Campus.
Score: Ogontz 7--Capitol 5.

proud coach ot this season’s
undefeated basketball team.

month’s final game for the
championship was one of
the best games of the
season.
“The gym was packed
and most spectators seemed
to be rooting for the French
Ticklers. Both teams were
psyched-up for the game,
and the referees ma<|e
better calls than at past
games.”

Troy said he believed Fist
city had been a stronger
team than the Ticklers, but
the French Ticklers played
as best they could. He added
that Rich Klotz was one of
the French Ticklers’ better
players along with Mercury
Morris and Rodney
Metzger.

SOCCER: The spring term
Soccer schedule is very light
but the team started the
season off by defeating NE
Christian Junior College 3-0.
practiced every Saturday and
were determined to win the
championship, Troy said.
Last year the team finished
15 and 1. Troy said
experience was also a factor
for this year's performance
since Virgil Jules, Doug
Spady, Keith Holton, Jimmy
Owen and Remone Sagree
were players last year.
