I come back here from the break and f have my whole outlook changed and I figured that this term would be different because I would be positive and look forward instead of backward and I come in and find I got closed outta a class they already said I had and that was a real bummer so I went ta Vendorville ta get something to eat and I found out that they want half a dollar for a crummy old cheeseburger but what can I do ‘cause there ain’t any other place to eat except the cafeteria by the dorms and I heard ya can get a terminal disease there but anyway, I went to buy the books, thirty-four of them at $15.93 apiece and someone must get a kickback from that, and the bookstore only has two of them and Fm having a big test tomorrow on the thirty-two books I ain’t got so that’s a real pisser and to top off all of this aggrevation, when I go to the parking lot, I find it has snowed and my car is stuck so I have to spend my nights in the library and everytime I leave, they put me through a total skin search to make sure I’m not rippin’ off any books ‘cause they only have six hundred books in the library and they don’t want to lose any to unsavory Philadelphians, who breed like maggots around this old shrine to Early Air Force architecture. But you didn’t read the kicker yet. By the time they got around to plowing the roads and parking lot, this cop who is always following everyone around has ticketed my car because I didn’t fork over half my life savings to buy a little orange and black sticker that’s guaranteed to fade out in ten weeks and they didn’t even smile when I offered to make my own sticker and now my budget is ruined and I have no idea how I’m going to pay Servomation all the money I owe but there is talk of impounding my car except it’s already been towed away. Yeah, I know. If I Don’t like it, why don’t I go somewhere else? Well, I would except there’s a lot going on in Middletown and I don’t want to miss anything. Besides, it’s not that bad. Keeler 165 Page 7 by Tommy Rot ** * * The opening round of the intramural basketball league witnessed the return of the undaunted warriors, not wishing to disappoint their “loyal” fans, they continued their streak of spectacular losses. There was concern, however, when Agnes, this year’s number one draft choice, came off the bench to score a truly remarkable push shot - Bill Russell couldn’t have done better. The opposition called time, the bullets ran over to the bench to take pure oxygen and have their B.P. checked. The game continued . . 200 CLUB Several veterans have returned to the boards this year. Jack Susskind was boasting of his 6 points, which represent his life time effort. Terry Turnbaugh, with an indian sweat band, and phantasies of victory, showed remarkable maturity. He handed out bibles which were alledgedly collected at a variety of motels during the training season. Ray Klein managed to walk to both ends of the court without scoring an infraction. Joining these “gladitors” were Bob “toothless” Smitley, Hugh Itrend setter) Spall and Stu Goldman, back from Japan where he played with the “Tokyo Trotters.” His date suggested a rare eastern disease, forms of which have been known to exist in the West. Student “ringers” are also playing on the faculty team this year. You can tell the students by their uniforms - they are wearing black sneakers, white socks and brown nose guards. The officials at the game confirmed that long held belief, that blindness is on the increase in this land. Their calls were constant, they seemed to favor the team which could effect their “G.P.A.” Will the team survive? Who will be the MVP? (to this year’s winner goes a free parking slicker, good only on Sundays.) Blood, sweat, and tears, courage every faithful love of country and dedication to mankind, were not present. However, when the final buzzer sounded, the Bullets smiled with satisfaction. “Nick the Greek” was wrong, the Bullets had not been shut out. The Bullets are BACK by Ray Klein ** * *
