And that's what makes "Mid night to Midnight" work so well. The album consists of mostly vocal, guitar, and sax ensembles, provided by Richard and Tim Butler, John Ashton and Mars Williams respectively. The result is an exciting group of pseudo-punk hits. "Heartbreak Beat" is probably the most driving of the songs on the album. Fre quently airplayed, "Heart Beat" differs little from past Psychedelic Furs hits and is as equally potent. As its name implies, "Shock" is a cut with electrifying appeal- The sax of Mars Williams taints this song with a bright-lights big city sound. Once "Heartbreak Beat" has been played to its death, I'm sure "Shock" will take it place on the airwaves. Two other songs on the album are also worthy of notice. "All the Law" and "Torture" keep in line with the Furs' heavy guitar sound.
