Collegian iVlayl, 1986 Good attitudes developed on the Behrend Baseball Team by Andy Seneta Collegian Staff Writer The last few weeks haven't been so kind to any of the students here at Behrend as we have been plagued with rain, snow, and very cold temperatures. The conditions outside have also limited the men's varsity baseball team's action. The Cubbies, under the wat- .. .-:~. Games scheduled against Point Park, Clarion, Fredonia, and Case Western were all cancelled as a result of the weather. We dropped a tough one to Mercyhust 3 to 5 in an eleven inning marathon," Folga noted. Last Friday the Cubs finally found themselves on top in an extra-inning pitcher's duel against Gannon as they prevailed in the first game l-0. In the second game the reverse was the case as Gan non won 1-0 in a nine-inning battle. If the rest of the games are not made up the Cubs will end the season with a 3-10 mark, however, they will also leave with some optimistic attitudes established to build a winning season next year and a coach who wants to win. Looking ahead to next season Folga stated, "We've shown this year that we can play with the Division II schools, as well as the ones our own size." All in all the Cubs had a good season as they accomplished a lot under the first-year coach. "The win against Gannon is an en couraging way to wind down the season," Folga said. sports 12 Cubs Scoreboard Men's Tennis Behrend v. Geneva Team Record (through 4-28) 3-7 5-4 Win Behrend v.
