Phys Ed 170
Note For Non-Traditional Students
by Marge Toniczak
Attention non-traditional
students, this is for you. For the
first time, Physical Education_ 170
(a three credit course) is being of
fered by Behrend. Ph Ed 170 ac
commodates the Baccalaureate
degree requirements and should
be of value to any non-traditional
students who have not taken any
Ph Ed 5 credits to date, as it
would substitute for all three.
The first half of the class would
be a lecture on the theory of exer
cise. The second half would be lab
where the students would apply
the theory of exercise to practice.
The grade is determined by two
thirds knowledge and one third
exercise practice.
Registration for the summer
session 1984 is June 6 and 7.
Classes begin June 11, 1984 and
end August 9, 1984. However,
since this course has never been
taught before, it would naturally
involve considerable preparation
time and effort. Dr. Sweeting,
Dean's Representative for Health,
Physical Education, and Recrea
tion, would like to know how

many non-traditional students are

for the summer session 1984,
please stop at the Top Of The Hill

RUB desk in the Reed Union

The class would meet twice a

ned for the periods from 6:15 to
8:55, either on Monday and
Wednesday or Tuesday and
Thursday, dependent on the re
quests of the majority of students
who sign up. This is a great op

necessary three credits in Physical
Education that is required by
Penn State University.
changes it is recommended that

BEHREND COLLEGIAN
"What's Up?"
Do you think you're on top of everything that's going down on campus? If
so, then ponder this question:
"What has gone from Harvest Gold to Meadow Green this fall while the
trees have changed from green to gold?"
Completely stumped? Then try these clues:
Clue No. 1. It's Mineral.
Clue No. 2. It's bigger than a bread box, and as long (but not as large) as a
refrigerator.
Clue No. 3. - The column title.
The answer will appear in the next issue of the "Collegian."
