"Athlete of the Year"
Behrend College senior, Ron
Williams, was recently selected
Cage Classic II Collegiate Athlete
of the Year. The award was
announced after he played in the
Cage Classic II All-Star Tour
nament held at the Gannon Audi
on April 12.
Williams, who will graduate
this Spring with a B.S. in
Psychology, was selected from
among all area collegiate
athletes. McDonald's and Youth
Creations of Erie joined in
presenting Ron with a plaque and
a $5OO scholarship in his name

ROTC is sponsoring a Rap
pelling-sliding traverse weekend
at Elk Creek. All Behrend
students are invited to par
ticipate. Transportation will be
provided. A $l.OO charge per
person will be collected to cover
food and beverage costs. Those
interested may sign up in the
ROTC office.
All Behrend students who have
ever thought of flying for the
Army can take the Flight
Aptitude Test. There are no
obligations for anyone taking the
test. If you are interested, please
stop in the ROTC office. You do
not have to be in ROTC to take the
test if you are interested.
In recognition of Mother's Day
CARE's Pittsburgh office has
launched a special Mother's Day
campaign to send food and other
aid to homeless, hungry children
overseas.
Contributions of. $2.00 or more,
together with your mother's
name, address and instructions
as to how the card should be
signed, can be sent to CARE,
Kaufmann's Pittsburgh, PA
15219. CARE will send a special
Mother's Day card to your
mother and will distribute relief
aid to needy children around the
world.
So that cards will arrive in time
for Mother's Day, the CARE
office should have all orders by
May 5.

athletic ability, academics, and
participation in other school
activities.
For four years, the 6'2" guard,
played basketball for Behrend,
and finished his career as
Behrend's third highest all time
scorer.
Ron was also selected to the
Metro of America All-
Tournament Team, and as a
NAIA Honorable Mention All
American for the 1979-80 season.

These projects include building
handicap access ramps to the
Behrend and Turnbull buildings
and Erie Hall; reroofing Erie
Hall and Dobbins Hall;
replacement of entrance road
light poles; and replacement of
galvanized plumbing in Dobbins
Hall.
Students who completed
Psychology 496,402, and 296 in the
1979 school year with Kiyoe
Mizusawa recently presented

Seventh Annual Conference of the
Northwestern Pennsylvania
Psychological Association, held
at Mercyhurst April 19, 1980. E.
-Clark, attended the Fifteenth
Annual Conference of the State
University of New York, held at
the Buffalo State College on April
19, 1980.
The Behrend College Bookstore
now has Penn State neck ties and
also Miss Piggy and Kermit T
shirts.
Two new species of flies have
been found in Six Mile Creek.
They are Stupkaiella mastelleri
Wagner and Mesocricotopus odei
Seward. The Stupkaiella
masterelleri was named after Dr.
Masteller who discovered that
species.

in the Reed Lecture Hall. The
purpose of the ceremony will be
to honor students who have
contributed their time and
energy to the betterment of their
organization and thus to Behrend
College.
Honor certificates and special
awards will be presented to
deserving members. Kim
Hammond, L.S.S. president will
host the evening.
