The concert will be held at the Gannon Audi. Doors will open at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are available at the Behrend SUB Desk or the door for $4. A two-story multi-tier bookstack in the Behrend College Library will be constructed during the Summer Term. All books in the Library will be packed and moved to other places upon the conclusion of the Spring Term. The Library ser vices during the Summer Term will be restricted to: reserved materials, some periodicals and newspapers, audio-visual materials, photocopying, and interlibrary loan services. Anyone planning to use library materials during Summer Term should send a list of materials to the Library by April 25, 1980, so that they may be on reserve. Dr. Charles Kolb was recently promoted to Assistant Professor of Anthropology in the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Eva Tucker has accepted a NASA-ASEE Case Lewis Sum mer Faculty Fellowship for the Summers of 1980-81. Diana George has received a grant from the Institute for the Arts and Humanistic Studies at U.P. As a result, Dr. George will be released from teaching duties Fall Term 1980 in order to work on her book, "Woman In Blake." Music Dept. Faces Busy Schedule Behrend's musical organizations have planned a number of concerts, many open to the Behrend community. April 29th, at 8 p.m., there will be a "Something for everyone" concert in the Reed Lecture Hall. Pop songs, classical music, and songs from great musicals will all be part of this performance. May 3, at the Golden Medallion Award Ceremony, the chorus, the women's ensemble, the men's ensemble, the Statesmen, as well as solo artists, such as Joanne Pukanic, will all be performing. Sunday, May 11, the chorus will be singing at both the 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. ser vi ces at the Messiah Lutheran Church located on 2910 Spring Week 'BO Offers Concerts And Activities The Student Union Board and the Student Senate are spon soring "Spring Week '80" star ting Sunday, April 27 and con tinuing through Saturday, May 3. Many activities from concerts to a 10,000 meter run have been planned for the Behrend Com munity. Sunday, April 27, the SUB will sponsor a concert in Erie Hall at 8 p.m., featuring "The Putnam County Pickers." There will be another concert Monday night at 8 p.m., in the Reed Lecture Hall featuring the duo of "Burton and Trapper." An All College Picnic, begin ning at - ,con, will be held Wed nesday, April 30 at the Wilson Picnic Grove. Also that day, the Published by the Students of the Behrend College of the Pennsylvania State University Captain Jeff Witherel, Assistant Professor of Military Science and Officer-in-Charge of Behrend ROTC, has been re assigned by the army to the Intelligence and Security Board at Fort Huachucha, Arizona. Dr. Robert Hostetler was an invited speaker at the PA Council of Teachers of Mathematics convention held in Pittsburgh, on March 29. On March 26, Dr. Edwin Masteller presented a paper at the 28th Annual Meeting of the North American Benthological Society in Savannah, Georgia. The Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences received a Accounting Dinner And The Accounting Club is plan ning many activities for its members to participate in during the Spring Term. On April 19, a Senior Dinner is being held at Viv's Country Restaurant to honor Behrend's Donor Cards Available Those students - who gave blood when the blood mobile unit was on campus in Oc tober may pick up their donor cards in the Dispen sary M.J. The Behrend Theatrical Department is featuring several Behrend musicians in its play, "The Spoon River Anthology", including Nina DeFabbo, Joe Hohman, Jay Nelson, Joanne Pukanic, and Nathan Spears. The production will run April 18-20 and April 23-27. Curtain time will be 8 p.m. each evening and in addition there will be 2:30 p.m. matinee shows on each of the two Sundays. The Music Department is also lining up an additional concert in May, but has not yet set a date. In addition, there will also be periodic lunch-time mini concerts in the RUB cafeteria. SUB is sponsoring a "Band Jam." Thursday night at 8 p.m. in the Reed Lecture Hall, "Tim Eyerman and the East Coast Connection" will provide the entertainment. The Student Senate will sponsor the last dance of the year, Friday, May 2, at the Peek n' Peak Ballroom. Dancing will be from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. with the music provided by a local disc jockey. Saturday will be the "wind-up" of Spring Week with the Second Annual 10,000 Meter Run and the Behrend Golden Medallion Presentation. The Golden Medallion is given to Behrendites who are selected on the basis of their service to the College. Station Road, Erie, Pa. 16563 grant of $15,225 from the National Science Foundation for the project "Atmospheric lonization Effects on the Serotonin Levels in Rats Under Various Stress Conditions." The proposal was prepared by Prof. Kiyoe Mizusawa. The project is in terdisciplinary, requiring a team effort. Eight student participants are involved: two each in psycology, biology, chemistry, and engineering: They will be advised by K. Mizusawa, L. Balmer, L. Eckroat, E. Tucker, and J. Witherel. Members will at tend free and Non-members $3.25. Two seminars are planned for meetings later in the term. The first seminar is Wednesday, April 23, at 12:05 in 3118. Dale DeMarco, a CPA, will speak on Auditing. A definite date has not been set for the second seminar to be given by Thomas Monahan on Tax Accounting. It will, however, be during the week of May 5-9. To wind up their busy year, the Accounting Club is planning a Spring picnic at the Wilson Grove. The date is tenatively Saturday, May 10. Memorial Service On May 2nd at 12:15 p.m. a Memorial Service will be held for those deceased students and friends of Behrend College. The service will take place in front of the Reed Building at the monument built and dedicated by Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity in their honor. "Run For Fun" Deadline Extended Deadline for entries in the second annual Behrend College 10,000 Meter "Run for Fun" has been extended to Tuesday, April 22. The challenging cross country run, which exposes runners to a wide variety of terrain and conditions, takes place Saturday, May 3, starting at 11 a.m. The entire race takes place on the 425-acre Behrend campus, free from vehicular traffic. "Las Vegas Night", an evening of gambling with phony currency, will be held in the RUB cafeteria on Saturday, April 19, from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight. The admission fee for the event is $2.50. The Rape Crisis Center Needs Volunteers A research project is being conducted at Erie Rape Crisis Center in an attempt to better define the reactions rape victims have to their assault. Students who were vic tims of rape at age 13 or older, where the assailant was not a family member, are encouraged to participate.
