For all of you sickies out there
(please admit that you have a few
loose shingles) the show you've
been waiting for all year is
coming to Behrend on Wed
nesday, March 20. On that date,
"National Lampoon" cartoonist
Vaughn Bode will be bringing his
weird presentation to our quiet,
unassuming campus.
"What is Bode's show, and
what's in it for me?" you might
ask. Would you believe that it's an
underground cartoon concert?
Well, believe it, Sherlock, 'cause
that's what it is. Vaughn Bode not
only presents slides of his
characters, but he becomes their
voices and personalities.

Snow has hit Behrend again! (at least last week
anyway...). A battle of the dorms took place. Perry versus
Niagara with Lawrence kids looking in on it. Who won? No
one really knows, but rumors have it that the battle ended in
a stalemate.

feature, Bode's works include
"Cheech Wizard", "The Man"
and "Junk Waffles." He helped
launch the first weekly un

Blimp" and has a regular strip in
"Cavalier" Magazine.
Vaughn Bode's comic-strip
universe is filled with habitually
lecherous lizards, well-endowed
sexually sophisticated females,
and humanoid war machines.
Bode has created over 1500 dif
ferent characters in his fantasy
works.
Audiences have been en

unique cartoon concert. Besides

Amendment Plac
by Bud Ore
Further discussion as to the
amendment of the SGA con
stitution was the main topic at
Monday night's SGA meeting.
After a lengthy debate between
Jim Armstrong and some other
members of. the SGA, it was
decided to put the question of
separating the secretary
treasurer office into positions on
the ballot for the students of
Behrend College.
Armstrong felt that the two
offices should be split with the
during Common Hour.
Along with plans for the major
production plans are being made
to organize a series of three
workshops which will also con
tribute to the Arts Festival
program. The groups will present
work in the areas of Children's
theatre, scene work, and ex
perimental theatre. Anyone in
Room be made available for
study purposes on Friday night.
They decided that this can be
done between the hours of 7 and 11
p.m. with the understanding that
reservations for student ac
tivities, Continuing Education
Workshops and other gatherings
within that area may take
priority. A monitoring system has
been established on a rotating
basis to alleviate the possibility

idea met strong opposition from
Darla Berkey, who- as the second

In favor of splitting the office of
the secretary-treasurer and
making it a fifth office were Mike

Their position was that as the

vote, all questions either go yes or
no. With the fifth person on the
board there would be the
possibility of a tie and the chance
for discussion would follow.
The amendment as it now reads
and which requires two more
readings at the SGA meetings is
as follows: "Article 111, Section I
to read-Treasurer and Secretary,
Article 111, Section 111, It‘m II to
read Treasurer and Secretary,
Article V Section VI Item I shall
read, 1. Secretary shall be
responsible for taking the
minutes of the SGA meetings;
2. The Secretary shall aid the
president in maintaining
correspondence necesessary to
the duties and responsibilities of
the SGA."
To pass, the amendment needs
a two-thirds vote of the SGA and a
majority of the students who
vote.
Also to be put on the ballot for
the students will be the
nominations for University Park
faculty senate. Nominations will
be open for all students currently
enrolled at Behrend College and
will be here during the 1974-75
academic year. Nomination
forms will be available at
registration at the SGA table.
Students at Behrend will vote
for a nominee to represent them
in a commonwealth campus-wide
election. The top two vote
receivers from all the branch
campuses will be senators to the
University Park Faculty Senate.
The third and fourth top vote
receivers will be their alternates.
The two senators will represent
all the branch campuses.
In other business plans were
completed for a karate course to
take place in Erie Hall. Classes
will start March 14, and will be
held every Tuesday and Thur
sday from 7 to 9 p.m. The cost will
be $2.00 per lesson.
The problem of students that
don't go to Behrend using Erie
Hall was also discussed ,at
Monday's meeting. Up until now
security has been checking the
gym occasionally. A proposal,
was made to the effect that it
might be possible every half
hour. Other problems are that
students that don't go to Behrend
claim they don't have an I.D. and
in turn get away with using the
court. One possible solution was
suggested that a time limitation
