41 Behrend Beacon October 16, 2009 I www.thebehrendbeacon.com LOCAL NEWS TITUSVILLE The U.S. Attorney's Office said this morning that Chad Zachary Hower, the former area man accused of kidnap ping his 13-year-old son and taking him out of the country, is being held in Bulgaria. Authorities are waiting for Bulgarian authorities to decide whether Hower will be extra dited, Assistant U.S. Attorney Christian Trabold said. Hower, 34, is accused of tak ing his child, Aarys Oberlander- Hower, then 10, out of the country in November 2006 to obstruct the parental rights of the child's mother, Nancy Ober lander, according to records filed in U.S. District Court in Erie. CHAUTAUQUA Chautauqua County is under a winter storm watch because of the possibility of a significant early-season snowfall that could bring down limbs still heavy with leaves. The National Weather Serv ice warned that 4 to 6 inches of snow could fall between tonight and Friday night, with higher amounts expected in higher el evations. The snow has the potential to bring down large branches, which could impact power lines and structures, the National Weather Service warned. ERIE Erie police continue to inves tigate the suspicious death of 2- year-old Takiah Warren today. Police have called Marquice D. Evans, 19, "a person of inter est" in Warren s death based on the testimony of Warren's 5- year-old sister, who told inves tigators that she saw Evans hold a towel over Warren's face and then sit on her Monday night. Warren was found dead by her mother the next morning. Police have not charged Evans in the case, in part be cause an autopsy completed ■'’Wednesday found no definitive cause of death. LAKE CITY An employee who came to work early saw a man stealing money from vending machines at Engineered Plastics, state police at Girard said. The man ran away. Police said the man entered the building, at 1040 Maple Ave., through a window early Monday. Police said he went to an employee break room and used tools to force open several vending machines at 3:45 a.m. Police said the man fled the building, running toward West Lake Road.
