MEADVILLE The Pennsylvania Depart ment of Transportation an nounced this morning that one of the northbound 1-79 lanes will open to traffic on Monday, along with the northbound off ramp to Conneaut Lake and the eastbound on-ramp to 1-79 north at Routes 6/322. The opening marks the near completion of a two-year, $26.3 million project that replaced the two bridges carrying 1-79 over Routes 6/322 and made other associated improvements to the interchange. All interstate lanes should be open by the end of October, once the contractor completes guide rail installation and other finishing tasks, PennDOT spokeswoman Deborah Casadei said this morning. WARREN A Warren man and his two passengers were injured when his vehicle was struck in a head-on collision Wednesday afternoon. Police said Cassandra L. Amos told a clerk at the Circle K con venience store at 3327 Pine Ave. that he had a gun before stealing juice and candy just before 11 p.m. Wednesday. A witness was able to give police a description of the getaway ve hicle, and police stopped the car a short time later, finding Amos inside. He was arrested and charged with robbery, simple assault, possessing instruments of a crime, and retail theft.
