Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves while working and had a good time during breaks. Community service offers a sense of fulfillment, that going and bumming on the beach can't match. "This is an experience that I think all of us will cherish. Everyone should go," Housing and Food from what students pay in room and board. The goal of Housing and Food Services is to provide housing for 50 percent of Behrend students. Senat Hall, with its 150 spaces, will bring the campus capacity to 1,645. Current students seem unfazed by the erection of the new building. Most are not distracted or curious as to how the final product will affect the campus. "I don't (expletive) care," said an unsympathetic Eileen Haase, PSYCH 04. In addition to the construction of the new residence hall, Perry, Lawrence and Niagara will each undergo a series of renovations to improve safety and comfort. The renovations were sparked by a need to install sprinkler systems. The dorms will obtain new electrical, as well as telephone and data wiring. In a two-phase project, Perry, Lawrence and Niagara will receive carpeting in hallways and bedrooms, new wardrobes, painted walls, new ceilings and lighting andupgraded lobbies. Shrout said, "Students can tutor, participate in environmental cleanups or work soup kitchens among other things."
