PROVOST’S SPEAKER SERIES
Dr. Syed Saad Andaleeb, associate professor of marketing, will
discuss “Teaching Research: Challenges and Payoffs” in the last
installment of the 2000-2001 Provost’s Speaker Series. This lecture
will take place on Monday, April 2, at noon in the Reed Lecture
Hall.
Andaleeb is the recipient of the 2000 Council of Fellows Faculty
Research Award. Andaleeb’s research focuses on consumer
behavior in health care, education, and marketing. He has written
and presented numerous papers on these topics.

Autumn Tale is the final
film in Eric Rohmer’s “Tales of
the Four Seasons” series set in
Southern France, and it is the
second film in the Women’s Film
Series at Penn State Behrend. It
will be shown on Tuesday, April
3, at 7:00 p.m. in the Reed Union
Building Lecture Hall.
This sophisticated French
film features Magali, a lonely widow who longs for male
companionship. Her friends Isabelle and Rosine encourage her
to interact socially, and both friends pursue separate plans to fix
up Magali with someone at the wedding reception of Isabelle’s
daughter. Drama among lovers, friends, and relatives is created
through situations mirroring real life.
The Women’s Film Series is sponsored by the Office of Student
Affairs and is free and open to the public. For more information

The student chapter of APICS The Educational Society
for Resource Management will hold its Second Annual PSU/
APICS Symposium Saturday, April 7, at Behrend from 8:30
a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Author Clay Whybark will serve as key
note speaker for the event. Open to both students and profes
sionals, the symposium will offer three informational tracks:
ERP Implementation Issues, Web-based Reversed Auctions,
and Product Management.
APICS is an international educational society recognized
worldwide for its training and certification programs. The cost
to attend the symposium is $5O for company representatives,
$25 for MBA students, and $5 for undergraduate students.

INTERNATIONAL DINNER
Students in Management 480, the International Management
class taught by Jana Goodrich, will again present an Interna
tional Dinner. This colorful event is scheduled for Sunday,
April 8, in the Reed Commons, with a reception beginning at
6:00 p.m. and a dinner following at 7:00 p.m. This year’s
event will locus on the countries of Asia and will feature stu
dent presentations, music, and a tae kwon do demonstration.
Tickets are $8 and may be purchased by contacting Denise
