Behrend student proposes
marriage

Wedding bells are chiming on the
Behrend campus for two of its
students. On Wednesday, October 18,
Behrend senior Tyler Travis
proposed to long time girlfriend
Kristine Di Marzo, also a senior.
In room 101 of the Science
Building, during their Understanding
the Bases of Human Disease class,
Travis got down on one knee and
asked Di Marzo to marry him. With
the entire class in anticipation of the
answer, Di Marzo quietly accepted.
A demonstration on chicken pox
transmission was used as the cover
to get Di Marzo to the front of the
room without suspicion. Working
with Professor Brian McKeon,
Travis stood back to back with Di
Marzo as McKeon told the students
that one of the pair would be given a
command and the other must not turn
around until told. Travis used the
opportunity to pull the ring from his
pocket and get down on one knee.
McKeon told the other half of the
partners to turn around, which Di
Marzo did, completely missing the
fact that Travis was kneeling down
in front of her. "She looked right past
me," Travis said. When Di Marzo
finally saw Travis in front of her, she
was in shock, hut accepted his
proposal.
Working closely with McKeon,

that his behavior had been weird, but
she simply thought it was just brown-
