This week, the column is fea turing the Behrend chapter of the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, or IVCF. This group is a religiously af filiated organization that falls under the supervision of the Protestant Cam pus Ministry. The ICVF at Behrend began with the Behrend College Christian Asso ciation, or BCCA. This former orga nization should not he confused w ith the Behrend College Conservative Al liance (also the BCCA) that existed about five years ago. According to Beth Bernard, president of Behrend's IVCF, the Behrend College Christian Association "wanted to he aligned with some national organization." Upon searching through a variety of organizations, they found that the ICVF most closely met the needs of the college. So, in the late 1980 s, the Behrend chapter of ICVF came into existence. Although the organization is reli - giously all hated, anyone is welcome to join and participate in the club. The club is nondenominational, though there are definite roots in Christian fundamentals. As stated by Bernard, the club's goal is to "reach out to the Behrend campus with loving arms so that they may know the love of God." 1999 Tribune Media Servi All rights reserved.
