Yes, time did march on as Behrend
students modeled into the latest styles
and trends for the present Spring and
upcoming Summer seasons.
Last Thursday, the National Society
of Black Engineers sponsored their
annual fashion show held in the Reed
Commons. There were about fifty
eager students, faculty, and visitors
patiently waiting to see what’s hot and
what’s not. The styles on display
ranged from army-style attire and
swimwear to casual and business wear.
In the swimsuit category, the ladies
either wore a two-piece or one-piece
colorful bathing suit with a matching
sarong skirt tied around their waists.
The models introduced the bright neon
colors that seem to be the choice for
this summer. The guys wore either the
traditional swimming trunks or swim
ming briefs. The audience couldn’t
help but anticipate the hot, sunny days
lective school. Dean Lilley told us
that the predicted freshman GPA will
be going up next year for four-year
degree students, as well as associate
degree students.
Lilley also predicted big things for
the future of Behrend, saying that our
growth occurs incrementally. “Some
day there will be several colleges at
Penn State Erie, one of which will be
Behrend College.”

The CDC can be an immense help
for all students and should be con
sidered mandatory. As Moore puts
it, “When you graduate you are go
ing to get a job, but using the CDC
will get you the job.”

a scene of bridal and prom wear.
Many of Erie’s Millcreek Mall
stores lent their clothes to our students
for showcase purposes. Stores like the
Express, TJ Maxx, J. Riggins, Ameri

helped supply the models with clothes
representing the hottest styles and
designs.
Master of Ceremonies Will Jordan

their wit and sense of humor as they

stated, “It was a really cool way to
increase audience participation.”
Not only did the audience get re

models benefited from their partici

all the models. Despite the negative
feedback from those who were not

Channasa Taylor, 04 MIB stated,
“The second annual Fashion Show
