All full-time faculty and staff: We are
now capturing photos and signatures
of all faculty and staff for new /£)+

will not work beginning with Sum
mer Session 1998. Phase out will
begin as early as May 10. This ID
card is needed for Dobbins Gazebo,
Bruno’s, the Library, and building and
room access at all Commonwealth
College locations and University
Park. Banking options may be avail
able as early as Fall 1998. Student
photo capture will begin April 1,
1998. We strongly encourage all full
time faculty and staff to have their
photos taken prior to April 1 to avoid
long lines in August. ID+ cards will
be distributed April 27. If you have
an interim ID from the new system
(white card), it is not necessary to
have your picture retaken. We will
print your photo on the new stock and
distribute it on April 27. The ID of
fice is located on the second floor of
the Reed Building, overlooking the
Wintergarden. It is open Monday
through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to

Penn State’s Creamery, renowned for
its delicious flavors throughout Lion
Country and beyond, has agreed to let
Penn State-Behrend rename one of its
flavors on a temporary basis in cel
ebration of Penn State-Behrend at 50:
A Golden Opportunity. Students, fac
ulty, staff, alumni and friends are in
vited to submit ideas for both the fla
vor and the name in the Name the Ice
Cream Contest. Entrants can select
from these flavors: Vanilla, Choco
late, Strawberry. Peach, Butter Pecan,
Bittersweet Mint, Peanut Butter Swirl
and Coconut Chip. For inspiration
consider the following: famous Be
hrend personalities including Ernst,
Mary or Otto; buildings and programs
at Behrend; and the fact that for the
first several years at Penn State-Be
hrend, the fields at the campus en
trance were laden with wild strawber
ries. The theme for the anniversary
year is “Penn State-Behrend at 50: A
Golden Opportunity.” Entries will
be accepted by e-mail at
axw6@psu.edu, by fax at (814) 898-
7116, or by mail at Ice Cream Con
test, Office of Development and Uni
versity Relations, Penn State-Be
hrend, Station Road, Erie, PA, 16563.
Entries must be received by May 31,
1998. Members of the Anniversary
Committee will serve as judges for the
contest. In addition to the fame and
fortune and the chance to be among
the first to serve up the Penn State-
Behrend flavor, the winner will re
ceive free cones of the winning fla
vor for 10 friends.
