Astronomy will continue on
Thursday. October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
when Dr. Keith S. Noll presents
"Beyond Planet X." Noll. an
astronomer at the Space
Telescope Science Institute. will
discuss a new class of objects
dwelling at the edge of our solar
system. His presentation will
take place in the Reed Lecture
Hall.
The Behrend Foreign Film Series
continues with "Stroszek" on
Monday. November 3 at 7:00 p.m.
in the Reed Lecture Hall.
John Frohnmayer, former
chairman of the National
Endowment for the Arts, and Dr.
David S. Touretzky, Carnegie
Mellon professor and research
scientist, will meet at noon
Wednesday, November 5 in a
debate that is sure to spark
controversy. Their presentation,
"Policing Cyberspace: The
Internet and the First
Amendment," draws on each
man's personal experience in

laureate of Maryland, will present
"An Evening of Poetry" on
Thursday, November 6 at 7:00
p.m. in the Reed Lecture Hall.

Creative Writers Speaker Series.
Behrend's first sorority on
campus, Alpha Sigma Alpha, was
installed on October 27, 1987.
This week they celebrate ten
years at Behrend. In recognition
of this day, Alpha Sigma Alpha is
currently planning an alumnae
weekend brunch with the national
president, Suzanne Kilgannon
Preston. They will also be
holding their annual formal, "The
Crimson Ball."
The Student Government
Association will be holding an
open forum on Wednesday,
November 5 at 5:30 p.m. in Reed
117. This forum will allow
students to informally address the
S.GA. and ask questions. Free
refreshments will be provided.

Linda Lombardi would like to
send out a special thank you for
all of those responsible for the
trick-or-treat party that was given
to the Behrend employee's
children this past weekend. Her
two children, Steven and Kayla,
really enjoyed designing their
own trick-or-treat bag and
painting their own pumpkin.
Thanks to all of those students
residing in the residence halls
that passed out candy to the
children. All the children left the
party with their trick-or-treat bags

The Commuter Council is hosting
a campus-wide fundraiser to
support the Penn State Child Care
Center starting Monday,
November 17 through Friday,
December 5. The Commuter
Council will be collecting money
on Tuesday, December 2 through
Thursday, December 4.
Volunteers will be stationed near
doors in the Engineering
Complex, Science Building, and
throughout Reed. Eunice Moore,
Director of the Child Care Center.

a list of items the Center needs.
Students, faculty, and
organizations can help meet those

various buildings. The Commuter
