Smith and Eugenie Baumann Smith Creative Writing Scholarship, 1997-98 The Smith Bequest to Penn State-Behrend is used to support the creative writing scholarships, visiting writers, arid other services for the program. While we solicit submissions from outside the Penn State system, we welcome applications from current Penn State &brad English majors. We anticipate awarding several scholarships this year for the fall of 1998. We ask that all division faculty announce this scholarship competition in classes immediately, since the deadline for submission is November 15, 1997. ELIGIBILITY Application for the Smith scholarships is open to any current Penn State-Behrend English major who has selected or intends to select the creative writing option, and to students who hare not yet declared the major, but agree to do so as soon as they are eligible.
