They played the way they're capable of playing," Benim said. Saturda - , was not such a good day for the Lions. Behrend was swept in a double header to a powerful Allegheny team. Daryl Schimdt suffered the loss in the first game, giving up eight runs, but only two were earned. The Lions managed only live hits in the first contest. Unfortunately, the second game was very much like the first. Behrend scored just two runs on three hits. In both games the Lions did not score until the seventh inning. Even though Behrend regular season record is not blistering, the Bchrcnd record books have been changed. McGuire has set the all time Behrend mark for stolen bases. He now has 48 career stolen bases passing Mike. Mixon [Behrend 78-81]. McGuire steals mark also passed up Behrend's only Major Leaguer, Tom Lawless. Lawless [Behrend 75-781 is not most known more his steals here at Behrend but his heroics as a St. Louis Cardinal team that went to the World Series in 1987. But, as Benim stated, "We're moving on to bigger and better things. We've put these last few games behind us." The Lions next game is today against Grove City College. The Behrend coaching staff does not know much about the Grove City program, but this is what Benim has had to deal with all season. "This isn't like basketball where you get all kinds of head start scouting reports. You pretty much show up and play," explained Benim. But baseball is a relatively simple game. Assistant Coach Bill Graham put it simple too. "If we get good pitching and play defense against Grove City, we'll be fine." First pitch.today is at I p.m
