One big adjustment that the Lady Lions had to make was playing on AstroTurf for the first time. Julie Stocker thought the team played well. "We played well against a very skillful team," she commented. "They were very fast and talented, and we were able to stay with them on defense. The two goals they got, they really had to earn." Coach Dan Perritano agreed saying, "We really defended well. We did a good job of handling adversity in terms of playing on a surface we're not used to, playing on the road, and playing in front of a Homecoming crowd." Assistant Coach Rick Nese was impressed at how well the Lady Lions stopped one of Alfred's best players. "They had one dominate player in the middle of the field," said Nese, "and some of our players, such as Lara Herrmann, realized her dominance and gave a good effort to mark her and stop her." "We have a lot of speed up front and we like to try to hit balls through to them," commented Nese. "But if we tried to hit balls through to them on the turf, the balls would just take off, so we had to change our game plan." As the season has progressed, the Lady Lions have improved excessively.
