King and queen to
Coronation

Homecoming king and queen
will be crowned as a part of
Parents and Families Weekend
scheduled for Sept3o-Oct. 1.
Eight women have been
nominated as candidates for
homecoming queen. They
include: Nicole Gialanella, Cora
Macßeth, Brenda McGraw, Sarah
Melchiorre, Jody Obrosky,
Foluso Oguntoyinbo, Earla
Simpson and Lourdes Tirado.
Two men are nominated for
homecoming king: Matthew D.
Cissne and Marcos Lopez.
Gialanella is a science major
and a member of Alpha Sigma
Alpha for which she has saved as
chaplain and philanthropic chair.
Macßeth is a chemistry
major and has been a Lion
Ambassador for the past one-and
a-half years. She is the current
vice president She is a resident
assistant and a member of the
chemistry club.
McGraw is an English major
and a member of the Roundtable
Society. She is also a member
of the University Scholars
Program and has been on the
Dean's list.
Melchiorre is a
communication major and a
member of Theta Phi Alpha

been an orientation leader and has
also served as a youth
development counselor at the
Y.M.C.A. for five years.
Oguntoyinbo is a psychol
ogy major. She is a member of
Alpha Phi Omega, the secretary
of Association of Black
Collegians, a resident senator for
SGA, and member of the
psychology club, HRPC. and
JRC. She is also a resident
assistant
Simpson is a psychology
major and co-president of the
psychology club. She is
chairperson of the public
relations committee for the
Association of Black Collegians.
She is also a cheerleader and a
member of the Newman
Association.
Tirado is a political science

Lopez is an international
political science major. He is
president of Lion Ambassadors, a
member of Omnicron Delta
Kappa honor society, a
University Scholar and a resident
assistant. He has been the
recipient of the Freshman of the
Year award, the Irvin H. Kochel
award and finalist for the H.S.
Truman national Scholarship.
Students can vote on
Wednesday, Sept. 28 and
Thursday, Sept 29 at the voting
table located outside the
Wintergreen Cafe from 11:00
a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Students will be
required to present their ID's to
vote.
The homecoming king and
queen will be crowned during
half-time at the men's soccer
match against Washington and
Jefferson on Saturday at 1:00,

Report
August 21: A non-student was cited for underage drinking.
August 22: A student’s vehicle was being pushed down Jordan
Road in an effort to jump start it when it was struck by another car
driving in the opposite direction. There J was minimal damage to
both vehicles and no reported injuries.
August 24: Students in the residence halls reported receiving
harassing telephone calls.
August' 27: Three students were found by Police and Safety
officers to be letting the air out of the tires of a vehicle parked on
campus. (
August 28: During the investigation of a parking complaint,
Police and Safety officers found a non-student to have a “palm
knife” in his vehicle. No charges were filed, but the knife was
