Despite the disappointing
cancelation of the season home
opener, the Penn State-Behrend
women's club soccer team picked
up its first victory at Allegheny
College Tuesday.
Led by freshman Lara
Herrmann's opening goal and two
assists, Behrend dominated the
game with 29 shots on goal and
finished with a 4-1 victory.
The Lady Lions distributed the
goals evenly between the two
halves of play and four players.
After Herrmann set the pace
with ha goal 12 minutes into the
game, Christina Muivin hit the
back of the net to allow Behrend
a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Kristin Costello drove one
home midway through the second
half, and Bridgette Jesek scored
the fourth and final goal.
Forward Fabiene Duchini chalked
up an assist
"We played exactly the way I
expected we would. Very well,"
said coach Rick Nese.
Behrend's defense held a
shutout until midway through the
second half. Co-captain Becky
Eckendorf had the hot hands
stopping six Gator shots.
Behrend is away at Mercyhurst

Since defeating Laßoche, the
Behrend men’s soccer team has
failed to score a victory in three
games.
The loses came against
Westminster (2-0), St. John
Fisher (1-0), and Nazareth (3-1).
Sean Blank was the only scorer
in the three games. With these
loses, Behrend’s record falls to 1-
5-1.
Coach Dan Perritano refused to
make excuses for his team.
“We’re not consistent game to
game,’’ he said, “and that’s how
we’re going to have to perform.”
“We need some success for our
confidence to build,” he added.
Sean Tucker agreed with
Perritano’s assessment
“We can’t keep changing our
strategies. We need to make our
opponents change theirs. We are
coming together better and
looking more like a team. We
just need to get organized.”
Senior Jason Freer said, “We
played hard but the acme had
them winning. The outcome has
not Shown our effort and that’s
disappointing.”
He added, “We need to keep our
composure and play within
ourselves and as a team. I would

office has always been a place to get
ahead Unfortunately, it’s also a place where natural
resources can fall behind So here are some easy ways to
reduce waste at the office. Turn off your lights when you
leave. Drink out of a mug insteadpf throwaway cups. And
to cut down on trash, use both sides of a memo. Doing
these things today will help save resources for tomorrow.
