Thursday April 7,1994 Full ah Arnett claims second Athlete of the Week title In two years by Greg Kristen ColUpm* Staff "She does everything bud and at full speed, and that is the only way die knows how to do things," said Head Softball Coach Paul Benim of sophomore catcher, Emmy Arnett. Arnett earned Athlete of the Week honors by going 6-7 from the plate with a double and four RBIs, scoring S runs, and swiping three bases against Geneva in a double-header last week. That performance raised her batting average to .385. She leads the team in steals with 14 and runs scared with 15. She will soon break the record for most steals in a season set by Darcie Bradley last year with 18. As for what she feels she contributes to the team Arnett said, "I do what I can to help the team." Arnett is from Conneautvilk, Pa. where she attended Conneautville High School. She began playing softball at the age of eight. During her time off from softball Arnett likes to show horses and participate in rodeo. She was originally recruited to Behrend by Jenepher Banker, the former women’s basketball coach, to play basketball. She has set her goals high for the team this year. "I want to win the NCAA Division 111 Tournament." Arnett is a psychology major and in the future (dans to graduate from Behrend and go on to become a detective. Full speed.
