September 29, 1976 Troop #39 dedicates Tree as memorial On Sunday afternoon Troop #39 dedicated a Memorial Tree of Life Scout Dean Chapin. The Service was held at the War Memorial Park in Mount Joy on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m., Sep- tember 26, 1976. The Service opened with the Pledge of Allegiance being lead by John Day, Senior Patrol Leader; Joe Coover, Junior Assistant Scoutmaster gave the Invo- cation. Tim Keller, the Quartermaster, gave the Scripture Reading. The presentation was lead by Kelly Lesher, Senior Patrol Leader and accepting was Mr. Harold Keller, Mount Joy Boro Councilman; the Dedication Prayer was given by Mr. Assistant - Gerald Alleman, Scoutmas- ter. The Rev. Ronald Gib- son from the Mount Joy Calvary Bible Church gave the Remarks and the Bene- diction. Scott Stauffer and Andy Raudabaugh closed the Service by playing taps. The Dedication Service was arranged by Joe Coov- er, Junior Assistant Scout- master. The Dogwood (carnus racemasa) Tree was given by the Day Family and the Memorial Marker was arranged for by Mr. James Heilig, Scouting Co- ordinator of Troop #39. Troop #39 has also plac- ed a Memorial Plaque on the Memorial Board near the Swimming Pool at North Camp of the J. Ed- ward Mack Scout Reserva- tion. Circle Creek scene of Garden Club auction Women’s Garden Club Auction. Members of the Wo- mens’ Garden Club of Lancaster County held their annual suetign at Circle Creek Farm 'in Marietta last week. About 150 members and guests showed up to bid on dried flowers, horticultural items, crafts, candies, and preserves. Services (like 8 hours of weeding, a gour- met breakfast, and a bak- ing lesson) were also auc- tioned. All the money went to support the Fragrance Gar- den at the Blind Associ- ation. The Fragrance Gar- den is an ongoing club project. Mrs. John H. Brown of Marietta is the club presi- dent. Circle Creek is owned by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Lombard. Mrs. Lombard is a member of the club.
