Known as ‘‘The Mother of Methodism’’ Susanna Wes- ley was a truly remarkable woman, and the account of her life and influence is a noteworthy chapter in Unit- ed Methodis: history. Mrs. Mary Ellen Kohler, wife of the pastor of St. Mark’s will make the presentation. It will be a part of a Wednesday devo- tional service that will include hymns, prayers, and special music. The service begins at 7:30 in the sanctuary of the church. The last program of the series, on April 7, will be a dramatic presentation, ‘‘Saddlebag Circuit,”” the story of Jacob Albright and his co-laborers. The Maran- tha Productions will do the honors. Raines, director of the Kirk- ridge Retreat and Study Center in Bangor, PA will present two addresses on Tuesday evening, one at a banquet at S p.m. and another at a service closing the four-day program at 7:30 p.m. GLOSSBRENNER CHURCH This evening, Wednesday March 31, the Lenten Service at the Glossbrenner United Methodist Church will include a play-reading in six segments. These Wednesday Even- ing Lenten Services are sponsored by the Florin Church of the Brethren and the Glossbrenner Church, and begin at 7:15 p.m., each evening. Tonight's drama is entit- led, *‘It Is Finished’, and was written by Leroy Koop- man. A number of persons from both churches, includ- ing the pastors, will partic- pate in the meaningful presentation which give reflections on those who are at the foot of the Cross of Christ. The public is warmly invited to share in this Lenten experience tonight in the Glossbrenner United Methodistchurch, N. Angle and Church Sts., Mount Joy,at 7:15 p.m. All the services will be at the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren and are open to the public. The banquet is by reservation only. A Brethren Community Chorus under the direction of Fred Rice, choir director of the Elizabethtown church will present music on Sun- day evening, and the Ephrata Cloister Choir will sing on Sunday. In addition to the worship services and addresses, the four days include a Heritage Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday, music by a multi- denominational Heritage Festival Chorus on Sunday and the premiere of a short play commissioned for the occasion highlighting the emerging issues of church and state as they developed during the pre-revoluntion- ary era in PA. Seminars open to the public are scheduled on Monday and Tuesday on such topics as World Hung- er, Family Planning, Feminist Goals, A Search of Identity, Revoluntionary Period and the Brethren, Coping with loneliness, etc. Additional information is available from J.
