Gary Booth scores not one, but two, holes in oné Gary Booth says his teammates and every- one else playing in the Dallas Rotary Golf Tournament on September 15 for that matter were “elated” at his first hole in one and “in total disbelief” at his second. Booth, 55, of Harveys Lake, managed two put the ball in the hole with just one stroke on both the No. 7 and No. 17 holes during the Rotary Club’s 25th anniversary tournament. Using a 5 wood on the No. 7 hole and a 9 iron on the No. 17 hole, he defied the par 3 on both holes. Having golfed for nearly 25 years, Booth has never before scored a hole in one, let alone two on the same course in the same day. “It’s really hard to document something like that,” he said of his accomplishment, but admitted “it is very rare.” For his efforts, Booth was awarded a trip to either Orlando, Florida or Las Vegas, Nevada by Smith-Hourigan Real Estate, which spon- sored one of the holes. : Booth was golfing with Mick Turinski, Paul Saxon and Stan Karpinski. The four- some did not win the tournament because, Booth said, “We’re not considered good gol- fers.
