PEACOCK Continued from Page 1 now has. It all started innocently enough when a high school boy- friend suggested “Hey, you wan- na get a peacock?” remembers Lincoln. “Sure,” she said. No newcomer to the bird world, Lincoln had helped raise chickens, then turkeys and ducks with her mother. Today, she has a couple dozen birds from the orig- inal four peacocks she purchased with selling prices that range from $25 to $400. If you're inter- ested in owning a peacock, you can call Lincoln at 388-2377. For the most part, the birds make nice pets. You can even let them roam around the yard. They sleep in the trees at night, but wake up early in the morning honking, sometimes screaming. They usually stay around the area where they are fed or penned but Lincoln does recall one time when they went next door and ate the neighbor’s petunias. “Boy, was he mad!” she said. A born animal lover, Lincoln enjoys the animal antics, sounds and personalities and tells the story of her pet turkeys whom she called by name. “I'd come home from school and yell, ‘Hey, turkeys’ and they'd all come running out from around the back of the house with the ducks following them,” STK #774013 _ 2007 JEEP PATRIOT 4X4 MorFer Mare d Bexle Price 19,999 sell. she said. “We'd go for a walk, the turkeys would follow me and the ducks would follow the turkeys. Oh, for the good old days.” Lincoln said that peacocks are eaten in California, but she has more benevolent plans for her feathered beauties and wants to move on and away from her avian involvement. A marketing major at College Misericordia in her junior year, she holds down two jobs and takes care of her father who has Alzheimer’s disease, so she has signs around the Back Mountain to sell the birds, planning to keep only a few for herself. ’ 2007 DODGE NITRO 4X4 AB wr Bae NE anid Beale Price includes $1,000 Rebate, Must Finance Through Chrysler Financial Take Advantage OF This VV 70-0, U-lad dl DCL ETA LEE ddd dd STK # 720055 NEW 2007 DODGE DAKOTA EXT CAB 4X4 mser *24,875 Mare Mery Choa mae Price includes $4000 Rebate “i¥'2007 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO 4X4 CONFER YF Payment is plus tax.
