Sternlieb, 77, of Hickory Hill Road, Dallas, died Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at Eisenhower Medical Center, Rancho Mirage, Calif. Born Sept. 1, 1925, in Glen Lyon, Newport Township, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Sarah (Zukerman) Iskowitz. She was a graduate of Kingston High School and Mount Sinai School of Nursing. She served with the Nurse Cadet Corps during World War II and was employed as a regis- tered nurse, working at her husband’s practice. She also taught gourmet cooking classes and was the editor for two Hadassah cookbooks. She was a member of Temple B'nai Brith, Kingston, where she served on the board of direc- tors. She was also a member of Ohav Zedek Synagogue. She served on the board of B'nai B'rith Apartments, a member, in perpetuity, of the Jewish Community Center, where she served on the board of trustees, and was a life member of Hadassah. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael J.; sisters, Mari- an Weiss, Jenny Weisberger Solomon, Dora Weisberger and Flora Weiss; brothers, Henry Ib- sen, Louis Ibsen, Maxwell Ibsen and Samuel Iskowitz. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Sanford B.; son, Jef- frey L., Wyomissing; daughter, Susan J. He also worked as a security officer at Penn State Wilkes-Barre in Lehman Township. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
