Getz, Kingston Township, and Matthew R. Loring, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert V. Loring, Fayetteville North Carolina, were united in marriage on August 4, 2001 at the Shavertown United Methodist Church, by U.S. Army Chaplain Lt. Colonel Robert V. Loring and Pastor Jan B. Clark. The bride chose Heather Wilt as her maid of honor. Brides- maids were Cindy Loring and Kim Loring, sisters of the groom. Katelyn Loring, niece of the groom was flower girl. The groom chose James Wyatt as best man. Groomsmen were Jason Getz and Aaron Getz, brothers of the bride. Tyler Tice, nephew of the groom was ring bearer. Mrs. Loring is a 1997 graduate of Dallas High School and re- ceived her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Mes- siah College graduating Suma Cum Laudi. She is employed at the Washington District Elementary School, Virginia. Members of oy Scout Troop 281, Dallas, splay some of the food collected and the collection door hangers distributed to local homes for the “Scouting for Food” drive held March 2. Ten area Girl Scout troops and Troop 281, along with 26 adult leaders pardeipar ed in the annual event. ‘Scouting for Food’ sets record as 2,600 items are collected - BACK MOUNTAIN — Approxi- mately 85 youths from 10 Girl Scout Troops and one Back Mountain Boy Scout Troop col- lected 2,600 food items for the annual “Scouting for Food” drive March 2. “We collected 600 more food items than last year,” said event coordinator Paula Glicini. Scouts collected food from homes and set up larger collec- tion areas at various Back Mountain businesses in late February, and collected the food over the weekend for the poor and less fortunate families of the Back Mountain, according to the event press release. Items were taken to the Trucksville Fire Hall to be sorted and distributed to two local food banks, the River of Life Fellow- ship Church Food Bank in Shavertown and the Back Mountain Food Bank, located at the Trucksville United Methodist Church. The Back Mountain collection was part of an event held by Northeast Pennsylvania Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of America. by Timothy J.
