An unusual exhibition of paint- ings, drawings, pastels and wa- tercolors by contemporary Native American artists will open at the MacDonald Art Gallery at College Misericordia on September 2. This show runs through September 30 and is free and open to the public. The exhibit features a collec- tion of works by several Native American artists which illustrate @ some of the common wildflowers, weeds, trees and bushes used by Native Americans as effective cures for illness or injury. In addition to the artworks, the exhibition includes fascinating description of how each plant is used and how Native American medicine has influenced modern medical practices. Gallery hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 12-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.; Friday, 12-5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. Closed Monday.
