A unit secretary for the third floor medical/surgical area, Celestino has been a member of the Geisinger team for nearly five years. A graduate of Hauppange High School, New York, Celestino re- sides in Lehman with her chil- dren Bryan and Katelyn. A son joins Amershek family in N.M. Keith and Sherri Amershek, Edgewood, N.M., announce the birth of a son, William Thomas, born July 8 in St. Joseph's Hospi- tal, Albuquerque, N.M. He joins a brother, Ryan Keith, 5 years old and sister, Kaitlin Sophia, 2 years old. Sherri is the daugher of Len and Jean Groboski, Old Goss Manor, Dallas. Keith is the son of Richard Amershek, Elysburg, Pa. andJane Hein, Lake Ariel, Pa. Annetta graduates from Salisbury State Leonard Annetta of Dallas re- cently received his Bachelor of Science in physical science from Salisbury State University. He was among 902 bachelor’s degree and 71 master's degree candi- dates recognized at the May 28 commencement ceremony at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. Sunflower paintings bloom at Mellon An exhibit of artwork featuring the theme “Sunflowers” is on dis- play in the lobby of the Mellon Bank, Main Street, Dallas, through the end of August. Five members of a well-known family, the Chollaks, have cre- ated the artwork on display, which portrays sunflowers in various styles and personalities. The three generation of family members are Claire Chollak, Diane Chollak, Tracy Chollak, Holly Zug and Joshua Chollak. Claire is the grandmother of Tracy, Holly and Joshua and mother-in-law of Diane. Claire Chollak works primarily in oils and also in watercolors. A past-president of the Wyoming Valley Art League, she is still in- volved in the group, as well as the MacDonald Art Gallery at College Misericordia, Wilkes University’s Sordoni Art Gallery and the Penn- sylvania En Plein Air Society. She has been painting for the past 24 years and is a member of a well-known group of painters, the Valley 6. Her daughter-in-law, Diane Chollak has her degree from LCCC in commercial art and also at- tended College Misericordia's art program. She has taken lessons in portrait painting from Alice Shea, watercolor lessons from Ann Parkhurst and currently studies with Sue Hand of Dallas. She isan active plein air painter. Her favorite painting medium is watercolor. However, she also works in graphite, acrylic, pen and ink, and pastels. The mother of three children, she and her husband, Chris, reside at Har- veys Lake. The third generation of Chollak artists include Joshua, who will be a ninth grade student at Lake- Lehman this year. He is presently studying art with Sue Hand and has won numerous awards for his artistic talent. He works primar- ily in watercolor and acrylics and is the son of Chris and Diane Chollak. Holly Zug is a1994 graduate of Wyoming Seminary and will at- tend Syracuse University in the fall, pursuing a degree in art. She has been a consistent award winner throughout her high school career. : Tracy is a graduate from the University of West Virginia with a degree in Environmental and Civil Engineering and resides in New Jersey. She is also a photogra- pher. Her photos of sunflowers from out west inspired the art work and the exhibits. The Franklin Township Fire Co. recently received a 1974 4-wheel drive Dodge power wagon to be used as a brush truck from the Bureau of Forestry. This truck was converted to a flat bed to carry a 150 gallon water tank, hose line, rakes, Indian Joes, generator and lighting system. It will replace the 1950 Chevy pumper.
