Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Vincent E. and Mary Kelly Connery. He was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, University of Scranton and received a masster's degree in Business Administration from Columbia University. He had resided in Scranton for many years before moving to Dallas 17 years ago. Before retiring in June 1989, he served as business administra- tor for College Misericordia, Dal- las, for 25 years and was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the Army Air Corps as a navigator. He was also a member of the Purple Heart Club of Scran- ton University and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Wilkes-Barre. Surviving are his wife, the for- mer Ann Blier; son, James J., Stuart, Fla.; daughters, Dr. Sheila Connery, Shaker Heights, Ohio; Mrs. Paul (Elizabeth) Ackourey, Scranton; Dr. Christine Phillips, Danville; brother, Vincent L., Wic- hita, Kansas; sisters, Mrs. Mary O'Boyle, Richardson, Texas; Mrs. Janet Slowey, Highland Village, Texas; two granddaughters. Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, Dallas, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Church. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may call Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. MILDRED DAILEY Mildred E. Dailey, of Kunkle, died Feb. 17, 1990 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born May 7, 1914, in Kunkle, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Nellie Wrislar Nulton. She was a lifelong resident of B ~ Kunkle and attended Dallas schools. She and her husband, Warren, would have celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary May 7. She was employed by the Lanier Aircraft Parts Co., Dallas, as a packer until it closed, and then worked in the maintenance de- partment of the Dallas school sys- tem. She was preceded in death by brothers, Alfred, Charles, Elwood and Edgar Nulton. Surviving, in addition to her husband, is a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Beverly) Larned, Endicott, N.Y. Interment will be in the Perrins- Marsh Cemtery, Centermoreland. EMMA LAMOREAUX Emma R. Lamoreaux, 68, of Vine Street, Berwick, died Feb. 17, 1990 in Geisinger Medical Center, Dan- ville, where she was a patient for the past 12 days. Born Dec. 20, 1921, in Lehman Township, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Edith Marion Vandermark Lamoreaux. She attended the Salvation Army, Berwick and was a member of its Home League. She resided on Vine Street, Berwick for over 20 years. Mrs. DeLong was a resident of Dallas for more than 20 years and was a member of the former Pil- grimage Baptist Church, Shaver- town. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph. Edwards, 62, of RD 4, Oak Hill, Dallas, died Feb. 18, 1990, in Mercy Hospital, Wilkes- Barre, where she had been admit- ted Feb. 12. Born April 15, 1927, in Nanti- coke, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Beatrice Davey Belles. She attended Nanticoke schools and graduated from the high school in 1945. She also gradu- ated from the Wilkes-Barre Gen- eral Hospital School of X-Ray Tech- nology. She was previously employed at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital as an X-ray technologist. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Dallas, and the American Association of Radiological Technologists. She was preceded in death by her husband, David, infant son, David, also in 1966. KINGSTON TOWNSHIP SAYS DEER CAUSED ACCIDENT Patrolman Michael Moravec was dispatched to an accident on Carverton Road where he found a 1986 Ford driven by Patricia Rear- don of Pittston off the road and damaged. Reardon said a deer ran in front of her and she swerved to avoid hitting the animal but struck it with the front of her car.
