Friends of Library sponsor luncheon with The Back Mountain Memorial Library is issuing a special invita- tion from the Friends of the Library to attend its first annual “Lunch- eon With a Special Author”. The luncheon will be held at Irem Temple Country Club in Dallas, on Tuesday, June 6th beginning at 12 noon. The special author is Mr. Jan Kubicki, author of the novel “Breaker Boys”. Mr. Kubicki is a 1989 recipient of a creative writing fellowship from the National En- dowment for the Arts. He has received numerous grants and honors for his screenplays, which include “Popcorn”, “Slightly De- ranged”, “American Heart”, “Salad Days”, and the New England Emmy award winning comedy/drama series, “The Baxters”. A resident of Wilkes-Barre, Mr. Kubicki is also an accomplished photographer, and film maker. Currently he is at work on a sec- ond novel, “Hour Of The Magi- cian”.
