Bacon, the head of the "Bohemian Outs" swindlers, who operated in Erie, Crawford and Mercer counties last spring, was sentenced at Akron, ()., lost week to seven years in prison for forgery. Their method of working was to sell seed to farmers for 10 a bushel, taking their notes for the amount and promising to pay $10 a bushel for the crop. . They would sell the notes to the bank and that would be the last hoard of them. Erie coun ty farmers have been duped to the extent of (110,000 and are combining to resist payment of the notes. The Lewisburg Anjua says : We are informed thut one of this orguui.il ion of swindlers lias been in our county within the past few weeks mid has victimized a number of our farmers. A gentleman told us yesterday that a number of notes gotten through this "Bohemian" oats swindler were olTer- ed to Iii in the other day nt a large discount. He refused te take them. Those farmers who have been taken in by this chap had butter taken ac tion at once to stop the notes they gave him, or they will find themselves badly caught in the end. We do not kuow wh ether this Bo hemian oats swindle was practiced in Centre county or not, but any that find themselvesduped had better look Into the swindle iu time to preveut collection of any notes given. Swin dlers of this kind always have stool- pigeons in localities where they ope rate to help them suck in the unsus pecting. We see from our exchanges that this oats swindle bus been prac ticed against farmers in all parts of the State. Centre Hull Jlcporter. Storik Aroct Animals.
