SALUVIA A force of men from Greens burg, passed eastward over the Lincolu Highway last Sunday to work on the McConnellsburg and Fort Loudon Railway. Ex-Judge Wesley Hoop, and daughter Sallie, of McConnells burg, and Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Stewart, of Green Hill, called last fiundav at the residence of I. W. Schooley to see Veteran Henry D. Betz who is quite poor- 1. Mr. and Mrs. Richard School ey, of Big Cove, acd Samuel Strait, wile and children, of Sa- luvia, visited in the home of I. Schooley, on Sunday last. Miss Maria Betz, of Harris- burs, was called to the bedside of her aged father, Veteran 11 D. Betz, last week. Joseph Sipes still continues quite poorly and feeble. Mrs. Mahilah Deahonff has been in poor health for some time. Dr Mosser was called in both cases on Monday last. CoL William L. Moseby, of Well.i Valley, was in ihis section buying wool last Friday. Mason and Oliver Daniels gathered wool also, for ex-Judge Peter Morton We have been credibly informed that unwashed wool is selling in Adams county, and in Maryland, for 30 cents a pound. Wouldn't it well pay Fulton county people to dispose of about ,2."i0 dogs and raise and keep more sheep? The sheep industry in this couu ty has greatly diminished. The Pennsylvania State Department reports that onlv 65 per cent, as many sheep in this county as ten years ago. The taxpayers of the state have to pay annually $145, 706.01 dog tax. Out of this fund were paid 154,322.70 for sheep killed and ujured by dogs in 1913 Postmaster M. H. Hollinshead. at Ilarrisonville. has a reminder of the old muster days in the shape of a piece of board on which is nicely carved "Major S. Dunlon. 1837."
