Walter Thompson Company Moves to New Quflrtrrs. (rr.-ro te New Vcrk (4! jt-) A man who had not stopped growing at forty would be a giant of giants. It is the same with a business firm as with an individ ual. The firm which has grown for forty years and is still grow ing is a business giant. The J. Walter Thompson Com pany, which, after forty years of growth, has cgaiu outgrown its office accommodations; is just such a giant among advertising agen cies. Growth is the highest manifes tation of life. When growth stops, decay begins. It follows necessarily that a growing agen cy is a live agency. Fortunately, growth is a measurable quantity. When a boy's clothes get txi tight lor him when his coat cuffs slip toward his elbows and his vest refuses to button it's plain he has outgrown them. Whether for work or for comfort, he must have a larger suit. That's the way tho .1. Walter Thompson Company outgrew its former quarters iu the old Times Building. The accommodations got to be too tight a fit for work or comfort, and so the firm has removed to new offices at Twenty third street and Fourth avenue, where 13,030 square feet on one floor, tit accommodations for a giant business, give thenecess.iry working and breaihing space. There is only one explanation of business growth, and 'that is business success. And behind any business success there must be superior qualifications and equipment for the conduct of the business engaged in. The new offices of the J. Wal ter Thompson Company, at Twenty-third street and Fourth aveuue, are a very practical illustration of the success which has given the name of Thompson distinction in the advertising held for the past half century. But these new offices speak not only for past growth, but also for present strength. They rellect the pres ent successful and profitable con duct of business for a clientele of more than eight hundred active customers, many of whom are numbered among the largest and most successful advertisers of the country. The chase started in Whips Cove with quite an army of men with guns, clubs, and any thing that would sicken a sheep dog. When the chase ended one young man had three empty shells and two dead dogs. It is said that one man in his excite ment let his gun go off and killed an innocent dog. Subscribe for the News. Sheep as Pack Animals. The principal beast of burdea in the inner ranges of the Hi ma lay as is the mountain sheep, which will carry each from seven teen to twenty-live pounds of bag gage and live entirely on the her bage by the wayside. A small flock of them accompanied a re cent expedition of a famous In dian explorer for more than 1,000 miles, being at the finish none the worse for the journey, It is common in the Himalayas to load sheep high up in the moun tains with borax and then drive down to the plains, where they are shorn of their wool, and re turn laden with graiu or salt. They stand the'severe coid of the highest ranges of Tibet better than the yak or mountain cow, and are indeed indispensable to the primitive needs of transit of the dwellers there. The Younghusband expedition has provided a knowledge of the animal which the world lacked be fore, and it shows up as a beast of high merit with an all-around utility not easy to surpass.
