The old smoke-house method of prepairing meat for preservation is a back number in this age of progress, and should be relegated to the rear to join the old-fathioned fire-place,: 1 and bake-kettle that formerly adorn ed every farmer's kitchen. A more desirable method of preserving meat is with Krauser's Liquid Extract of Smoke, by which the meat can be more conveniently smoked, at much less expense and trouble, and which is a certain preservative as well as a protection from insects. The meat can be hung in the garret aud after s the liquid smoke is applied, can be left hung there until used. Thus all danger from loss is obviated, with the advantage of better cured meat having a flavor far superior to the] old method. We have used the Ex tract of Smoke for several years, are using it now and find it far prefera ble to the old smoke-house method. —Ex. Valuable Town Property for Slilr.
