The Republican County Conven tion on Saturday lust submitted to the careful consideration of the voters of Sullivan county a ticket which should command their re spect and support irrespective of part}', as the offices are strictly non political and the men named are each and all individually of un doubted characters and rare capabili ty and with such standard bearers all petty animosities should be laid aside and all rally to the support of i the people's ticket. Geo. W. Simmons, the nominee |for Jury Commissioner resides in Sonestown and is a blacksmith by trade. He enlisted in the late war in 1861 and served four years on the battle field. George is a favorite of both Democrats and Republicans and no doubt will make a stiong run. Atty. E. M. Dunham, tbe nominee I for District Attorney, is well known ! throughout the county and ueeds no |introduction to our readers. Ed's I ability as a lawyer ranks with our j very best. His hosts of admirers will no doubt remember him on the j 3d of November. Geo. W. Glide well, one of the nominees for Associate Judge resides in Elkland twp., and is a farmer by occupation, lie enlisted in the late war and served his time on the bat* tie field. Mr. Glidewell served our people as County Commissioner | some years ago and in the discharge of the duties of said otlice made ! hosts of friends. As an official lie is capable and competent to fill the position with honor to the county. 1 Hon. E. A. Strong of Dushore j one of the nominees l'or Associate Judge was born in Bradford county ' but has resided in this county ever ! since he arrived of age. His father I was a soldier in the late war and j gave his life for his country. Mr. | Strong has tilled the important and j responsible office ot County Super intendent with honor to himself and | the county aiul for the past five years has occupied the position of Associate Judge in this county and has made one of the ablest and best Associates ever upon our Bench, lie is probably tbe best qualified | for the position of any man that could be named, and the people of the county may well feel proud of having so able a man in such a re sponsible position and will no doubt rally to his support and re-elect him.
