Many lovers of food-fish have been alarmed at the presence of worms just under the skin in the black bass taken this season, but Prof. BATKD of the Fish Commission, says they are morth minding. On ly a few weeks ago his son FRANK sustained an injury which soon after caused his death; then the old gentleman was himself prostrat ed by pavalysi.s depriving him of the power of speech and locomotion, and then, to till his cup of aflliction to overflowing, hisgood wife was on Friday stricken with apoplexy, ren dering her helpless. "Whom the Lord lov clh he eluistcneth." FELSBIE RE-UNION.— The Frisbic family who were among the earliest settlers of Or well, held a family re-union July 4th. at the farm of A. (i. FRISBIE Esq., about one mile east of the village. The day was not only our national birthday, hut the eightieth birth day of Hon. ZEBULEN FRISBIE. His brother LEVI, who is eightv-three being present. These two honored and venerable citizens, 1 jgether with their wives, their sous, son-in law. families, and the families of their broth er, Cll AUNCKY. and sisters LAURA and CATH ARINE, who are deceased, making up a com pany numbering nearly one huurcd, assembl ed in the spacious and shady lawn. After the table had been cleared, lion F. N. FRISBIE, of Elmira, having been elected to toast-mas ter for the occasion, called out one and anoth er of the numerous FRISBIES, (having four generations to select from) and by his happy manner succeeded in obtaining much infor mation regarding the clan, their history, characteristics, and present habitations, by his happy faculty. The "l'cast of reason and flow of soul" made the afternoon one of the greatest hilarity, long to he remembered by those present, who were unanimous in pro nouncing it one of life's brightest days, and parting with promises of future gatherings.
