Jt h»m been decided by tbe war de partm nt dint persons of color, who have been enlisted and musterd into the service of the United States, and are musterd on rolls as free on c before April 19th. 1861, are entitled to bonntv, as folows, viz: if enlisted prior to October 24th, 1863, one hun dred dollars; if enlisted in an old or ganization after October 24th, 18':3, and prior to April Ist, 1864, three hundred dollars; if enlisted between April" st, 1864. and July I"'h, 1864, inclusive, one hundred dolla s. THEATRE AND <!AUD PLATINO.— -The New School General Assembly has adopted a report in relation to attend ing theatres and card playing, both of which practices are becoming com mon among church members The com mittee do not see any improvement in the theatres since 1818, pronoun cing them corrupting and iujurious, and improper for Christians and dan gerous to all, and accordingly reaffirm the resolutions of the Grand Assemb y of that year on the subject. In rela tion to c»rd playing, tney urge a careful watchfulness in avoiding all amusements and recreations calcula t d to impair spirituality, &c. RADICALS. —This means those who go to the root of matters, and aim at rectify i in? what they conceive to be wrong by beginning at the foundation. They are not always right in their conceptions; but when they are, they arc the right sort of reformers.
