Natural History Club. The Natural History club has be- gun what promises to be the greatest and most successful year of its exis tence. Up to tne present time the ma jority of the members of this organi zation have come from the Schools of Agriculture and Natural Science. We feel sure that there are a great many men at State who have either already given some time or consideration to one or more branches of Nature Study or who, though they have never given such consideration, are interested in Nature. All men possess this inborn interest to a greater or less extent and all that is necessary is to develop it. Do you think that the Natural History club might be able to cause this spirit to grow in you ? As a means toward this end, we have changed ror the present the program followed at the meetings of the club by introducing Bird Study. The subject of Bird Study is with out doubt one of the most interest ing phases of Natural History work. At present the Natural History club is using the following plan for pre senting the work : drawings are made showing. the characteristics of each group of birds ; specimens are shown to impress these charac teristics upon the mind and to get the members of the club tamiliar with our most co:nrnon birds ; a brief review is made of the economic value of each species and a short time is devoted to discussion. The club holds a meeting every Wednesday evening in Room 206 Main Buitding at 8:00 o'clock. Many coleges and and universities have Natural History organizations waich have oecome leaders in scien tific .work. We feel that State "MOTHER" DUNN'S GRUB AT W. T. DUNN McALLISTER HALL F. B. SCOTT Three Dollars a week And worth it all THE STATE COLLEGIAN ought to have and must have a Natural History club of "State standard." May we not look for you at our next meeting to help bring about this condition ? John K. Musgrave, Secretary The Forestry Club. A Forestry club has recently been organized among the students of the department. The organization of this club makes it possible for every student in college to join in the dis cussion of our national and individual welfare as related to the subject cf forestry. The regular meetings are held every Tuesday evening at 6.30 o'clock in the Forestry building. Everyone is invited to come and join in the discussions, the subjects of which will be posted on the bulletin board from time to time.
