We have bound ourselves together for the purpose of promoting the interests of the Democratic Party, which we consider identified with the prosper ity of the whole country; to promote this object we are prepared tb labor in the ranks; but here and now emphatically disclaim all and any obligations to par ticular individuals. We disavow all slavish adherence to any, however worthy, and adopt as our motto that :patriotic mcntintent, "All for the cause and nothing for men." Sec. 2d. Our objects have been stated, and we would not have them misrepresented and misconstrued: we profess a firm adherence to these principles which can. nitrite the great landmarks of the party; they have al ways been known and understood.
