SATURDAY MORNING, FEB. 20, 18.61 Annual Report We have received a copy of the Thirty first Annual Report of the Pennsylvania Institution ibr the Instruction of the Blind. The report is full of interest, and shows the institution to be in a flourishing condition, and well adapted to accomplish the noble mission it was designed to perform. We learn from it that on the first of December, 1863, there were in the Institution, including as sistants and those connected with the workshops, Of this number there are From Pennsylvania " New Jersey.... " Delaware '• all other places Of this number, Allegheny county sends as pupils, Riseph K. Doake, Alden F. Hays, Julian G. Parker, Robert St. Clair, Lavinia Beauff and Margaret Quinlivin. In the adults work depart ment there are but two from this county, Matthias Meyer and John Heoger. The resources of the Institution from all sources during the past year were $53,- 48912, and the disbursements 03,985, 04. may have occasion to refer to the report again. - - Mistakes of Printers.— Every DM' who has had anything to do with wri ting for the press hai had his share of annoyance by the mist ekes of the prin ter. Sir Robert 2=,,1 was once an nounced as having into the epqn try, in the Came ~ efls..n, to " shoot peasants." Sir Thomas Moore, in one of his latest productions, " The Fud gee, in England," introduces young Fan ny Fudge as a contributor to the " Po et's Corner" of a country newspaper, and makes her pour out the following . complaint to a correspondent of her own sex and are: "But stilt dreadful to think what provoking mistakes The vile country press in one's prosody makes.
