A... erioa be 1- --- - - . ly over London bridge. The scene around was probably one that cannot be equalled in the world with one glance ; the homes of three milli s people were seen, and so distinctly t t every large building at every part was easily distinguishable, while those almost under oe, viz : the Bank and Newgate, the docks, surrounding buildings, &c., In such detail that their inner courts were visible, so that their ground plans could have been drawn. Cannon street leadi'lg to St. Paul's was easily traced ; it was difficult to believe at first that that small building was St. Paul's. Lookingonward, s Oxford street was visible ; the parks, the houses of Parliament, and Milbankpiasqa t with its radia.ing lines from the centralist once attracted notice. In fact the wh le of Loudon was visible, and some parts ,of It very clearly so. - then all around tb4re were lines of detached villas, imbedded as it were in abundance of shrubs, and be yond the country, like a garden, with Its fields so well marked, becoming smal er and smaller as the eye wandered, further and further away. Again, looking down, there was the Thames, without the slightest mist, wtth all its winding coarse tro hughout its wh le length, with innumerable ships apparently very long and narrow, and steamboats like moving toys. Gravesend was visible, as were the month of the Thames and the coast leading or to Norfolk. The soulh• ern boundary of the month of the Thames was not quite so clear, but the sea beyohd was seen for many miles ; and when higher up I looked for the coast of Fran e, but I could not see it. On withdraw i ng the eye it was arrested by the garden-I e appearance of the county of Kent, till again Louden claimed yet more genekal attention. Smoke, thin and blue, was curling above it and slowly moving avray la in beautiful curves, from all but that rt south of the Thames; here the smoke as less blue and become apparently m re dense, till the cause was evident, it b tag mixed with mist rising from the grog cl, the southern limits et which were bound ed by an even line, doubtless indicating the meeting of the subsoils of gravel and clay. - I The whole of the seems was enrinout4ed by a canopy of blue, the sky being gaits clear and free from cloud everywhdre, except near the horizon, where a circular band of cumuli and strata clouds, extetid ing all around, formed a fitting boundary for such a scene. The sun waif eettilsg, but was not itself visible, except a sitdall part seen through a break in a dark stratus cloud, and looked like an eye overseeing all. The sanest, as seen from the earthy is described as fine, the air being clear and shadows sharply defined; but as we Thee the golden hues decreased in intenAtY, and at this tune ejaculations esceged firm all the occupants of the car. Both. cif. Walker and Mr. Miles have seen the 13- 4 1 sets of the Far West, and they-expr lid themselves as never having seen au3 ng so rich and picturesque. The rickingl of 11) these colors decreased in intensity th right and left of the place of the a n 1 but their effects extended 'td hilly o e— fourth part of the circle, where rese.4 o l— aloud; limited the scene. There mainder of the circle was completed partly by pure white . cumulus of very ronnfled and sytainctijCid forms.
