Geary, wnich has been sent up here by Mr. Thaddeus Hyatt to the brother-in-law of Gov. Geary, whet is still here. The arms were delivered, and were taken away in • wagons ,quietly, without exciting observation. The'cannon taken by the troops with the men captured at Hickory Point, has been here on the Capitol Hill all Winter, but lately it has disappeared. The Law-and-Order men here have bidden it. The weather has been coo). Emigrants still arrive, but not so numerously- Bread stuffs and everything else are rising. Be it ordained by authority of the Burgeaa and Towq Coaadl of the Borough of Knoxville and it is hereby enacted’by authority of the s&mc: That from and after the -doe publication of this Ordinance, no horses, cattle, sheep or swine shall be ssffcred to run at targe within the boundaries of said Borough under the following penalties, viz: For every horse, bolt, mare or gelding 50 cents; for every head of cattle (by which in this Ordinance are meant oxen, holla, stags, steers, heifers, cows and calves) 60 cents; for every bog, swfne or shoat 25 cents; for every sheep or iamb 25 cents,for each and every time they may be taken running at large with* In the boundaries of the Borough aforesaid. Provided how* ever that cattle may be permitted to run at large in any of the streets of the Borough during the following hoars, viz: from 6 o'clock to 9 o’clock A. Sec. 4th. And be it further ordained by authority of the some that the charges for keeping while so impounded shall be as follows, Viz. Each horse, mare, gelding or colt 15 cents per day on hay, 0 cents on grass. Each bead of cattle 12% cents on bay per day C cents on. grass. Each sheep 4 cents per day on bay 2 cents on grass- Each hog 6 cents per day Sec. sth. And be it farther ordained by authority of tho same that no goose shall he permitted to run at large within the boundaries of said Borough of Knoxville under tho pen alty of 12% for each and every bead so found, nnd It shall be the privilege of any citizen of the Borough to take up and impound them as aforesaid, and after giving twelve hours public notice by fonr written or printed advertisements pnt up in the most public places to proceed to sell at public sale to the highest and best bidder, unless the fine shall be previously paid, one half the proceeds to go to his own use and the other into tho Treasury of Knoxville Borough.
