Clara, 11-year-old daughter "f Frank Put nam, at Rook Lick, Grne county, just minted being bin lied to death In a fire tluil consumed her father's barn. Tbe little girl hud been Hbut in the barn and the door locked The children on tho outside then iet Are to some straw near the door. It burned rapidly and the blaze made It impossible to un lock the door. The building was aflame when the children flnnlly suc ceeded In prying off a board, thus re leasing the prisoner. She was pain fully burned about the fuce and arms aud was almost smothered. DEATH OI' A VENERABLE PHYSICIAN. In November Inst death claimed ono of the venerable physicians of Western New York, Dr. Aloii.o Wiltse of Dele- van, Cattaraugus County. Mr. Wiltse bad been a practising physician for sev enty years. A peculiar circumstance in connection with his life is the fact thnt thirty yens ago lie was stricken with Bright 's disease and nfter a thorough examination and consultation by emi nent Buffalo physicians, his case was pronounced incurable ami he was ad vised to prepare for the closing of his earthly career. Retnrniug to his home with such sad information lie was spurred to make n desperate analysis and study of Bright 's disease, with the result thnt he formulated a remedy which com pletely cured him and gave him an ad ditional lease of thirty years of life, or until the age of 94 years, as mentioned above. Mr. Wiltse in his practice thereafter used tbe remedy with great success.
