It was snow, irg a little at the time and it was ditbcult to see. There wen other persons at Crab run when I got there next morning. We fal lowed the tracks on down to Jake Gary's miU. Garys and we went to "Squire M Jl er's and got a warrant to search Gary 's boose. We sarched Gary's boose ; no one was there bet Feter Mill r. Then vr. -ct over to toy house and lock hicatfa-i. After this we went to Wm. Miller's, about a iaar ter of a mile from my bouse. It was abotat 9 o'clock when we gut there. There was six or seven ia the party. Miller was not there. Bob" Miller was there when we came. Wm. Crab ran is a small stream that freiaently goes dry in the summer. Jeremiah Whipkey testified : I first beard of the killing on tbe eveuirg ot the ita. I was at Trent and went with several others to hunt fur tbe body of Hochstetier. An other party of Marchers was ahead of cs and we met them below Crab rca. We found three tracks and followed them as desriled by the former witness. I went home after a warrant had been issued by Sjaire Miller.
