Mr. Postlethwaite was a ripe scholar, and his brother lawyers affirm that he was thoroughly posted in rudimentary law. He was an amiable man and led an ex exemplary Christian li fe. Although of late years the infirmities of age had somewhat unpaired bis usefulness, he was respected as a man of strict probity and line attain ments. He was found dead on his couch early in the morning. His spirit had apparently just taken its flight, and from the look of peace on his lace he had passed away without a pang cr struggle. It was a eu tuanasy. On Friday evening the members ot tb Bar attended the funeral in a body, an although the weather was very unpropi- tious, quite a number of citizens joined the procession. O Pursuant to a call lor a meeting ot the Bar to take action on the death of William II. Postlethwaite, Esq., an organization was effected at the ollice of W. H. Koontz, Esq., at two o clock 1 hursday afternoon, lulu Inst., when Colonel 4. it. tMie was called to tbe chair. The chairman hav ing stated the object ot the meeting, a mo tion was made and carried for the appoint ment of a committee of five members to draft resolutions which should reflect the sentiment of the Bar at the sad necessity which had called them together. The chairman accordingly appointed the committee consisting of the following named gentlemen : Ld Scull. W. 11 Koontz, A. J. Colborn, Isaac Hugus and V. 11. liuppel, Esus., after which the meeting was adjourned to meet at ten o'clock on the following forenoon, at which time it was again convened, when the committee submitted the following resolutions, which were unanimously adopted. The undersigned committee appointed in behalf ot the Bar to draft and submit series of resolutions upon the death ot William 11. Postlethwaite, Esq., respect- fully report, that.
