We regret to Hud the court room is so con structed that euund does not vibrute properly, and that it is almost impossible to do business with any degreo of comfort or acouruoy, owing to not beiug able to bear -correctly in the room. Gibson, pastor of the Episcopal Church, in this place, having accepted a call in Minnesota, his friends, mostly members of his church, resolved to offer him tome substantial testimonial of their esteem and tho ap preciation of bit service as a gentleman and chris tian, in the performance of his duties in building up the church, during his ministry here. The ladies, who always manage these things well, arranged the whole affair, and on Tuesday evening a large party of ladies and gentlemen besiegod the residence of Mrs. Donnel, where the family were laying, preparatory to their removal west, carrying with them luoh substantial tokens of regard that quite surprised as well at delighted the recipient! of these favors. Pol- lock, Savage A Moore, for $29,800. The Fair and Festival held in the German Re formed Church, during the holidays, was a sacoess. The nett receipts wilt amount to about $300. The Milton river bridge is finished so far at to admit the passage of vehicles. On Christmas the first team crossed. The bridge standi a monument of enterprise alike to its proprietor! and builders. The Herald, of last week, in speaking of the Fair held by the ladies of the Presbyterian Churoh, lays that it met with encoura ging success, considering the tightness of the money market in that place. The Fair was closed on New Year's night. The receipts amounted to over $1 ,000. After the payment of expenses this will leave them a handsome sum to pay on their church indebtedness. The voting for a gavel was spirited, and resulted as follows : Sons of Tcmporance, 634; Odd Fellows, 603 ; Temple of Honor, 10 ; Masons, 8 ; Cadets of Temperance, 2. Total, 1,057. Mr. John B. Douty offers hit large and hand some hotel, which it rapidly approaching comple tion, either for sale or rent. This house presents extra inducements to men looking out for a flrst-class hotel stand. Henry Yordy, an employee of the N. C. R. W , while coupling oars on Wedneeday, had his right wrist severely mashed, breaking and dislocating sev eral of the smaller bone of his hand and wrist. Uil hand, it is thought, can be saved. Mr. Josiah J. Treibloy, of Sbamokin, died at the residence of bis mother, near Bear Gap, on the 31st ult. Ho was another viotim of our late war, having terved nobly and bravely over fcur yean in the 40th Regiment Pa. Volunteers, and during this icrvioe contracted a ehronio diarrhoea, which at last brought him to bis grave. He leaves a young widow to mourn hit early death.
